The Ardabil Carpet is one of the world’s largest, most beautiful, and historically significant carpets, and it also holds the record for being the oldest dated carpet in the world. Although the carpet’s true history is shrouded in mystery, it is generally agreed that the court commissioned it for the Shaykh’s shrine, which had become a popular pilgrimage site by the 16th century.
The primary colors of our peach 5×10 aredbil antique persian area rug are Coral, Ivory, Mint Green, Brown, Navy Blue, Yellow, Peach, and Pink.
Materials, texture, and weaving :
Wool has a dense pile, with about 5,300 knots per 10 cm2, and it takes dye exceptionally well. Due to this density, the designer was able to include numerous intricate touches. It would have taken a team of skilled weavers many years to complete such a massive carpet with so many knots; it’s possible that as many as ten weavers were working on the carpet at once.
Our peach 5×10 aredbil antique persian area rug is also a unique product and is no exception.
Design of peach 5×10 aredbil antique persian area rug :
In the early Safavid dynasty style, each section of the design is filled with scrollwork adorned with fantastic flowers and leaves that twist and turn. Some even have symmetrical curving shapes that are supposed to be cloud formations.
Where to use this aredbil antique persian area rug?
Ideal for a living room, home office, or any other space in need of a traditional makeover.

The knot density in a Heriz rug like this heriz azerbaijan antique oriental area rug 7×9 ranges from about 40kpi to about 100kpi. (Although occasionally finer knotting silk Heriz carpets were manufactured.) The coarser knotting enhances the looser designs and styles of these carpets. Heriz (Heris) style rugs are typically larger, more durable, and more resistant. The knotted wool yarn pile on a cotton warp makes this possible.
